'Shur o dwani'
By Kamalika Guha Thakurta’s Srijon
Srijon presents a bouquet of dances set to Rabindra Sangeet in which there is mention of musical instruments. The banshi, manjira, mardala, damaru and nupur find mention in Gurudev's songs and poetry, sometimes individually and at times adding up to create a universal sound that reflects Tagore's philosophy of life.
Robi’r Rongey – Tagore Through Colours and Moods
By Shahana, Tagore Centre for Indian Music and Culture
A production that explores the association of colours with emotions and the mood it creates, through an innovative blend of Rabindra Sangeet, dance and poetry creating a show that stimulates, provokes and entertains.
Reminiscence and Reflection
By Angik and Pubali
The thematic design of the performance has been jointly conceptualised by eminent Rabindra Sangeet trainer & teacher, Mrs. Suchandra Dam (Pubali) and renowned Odissi dancer and trainer Dr. Sarmishtha Chattopadhyay (Angik). Suchandra Dam has been instrumental in promoting the rich music traditions of Bengal in the city for over 2 decades. The presentation is based on the works of the legendary poet, educationist and philosopher Rabindranath Tagore focusing on the influence of different forms of music like keertan, baul, raga and folk in them. Both the artistes would be accompanied by their troupe of talented performers.
