The Symphony Orchestra of India is back... this time with its Eighth Celebrity Concert Season, presenting a ‘romantic’ repertoire this February.
The season finale adds two more great romantic works to the list. Mendelssohn’s much loved Italian Symphony, No. 4
and Dvořák’s overtly, unashamedly tuneful, yet masterly Symphony No. 8, in G major. The concert opens with Rossini’s dazzling Overture to The Thieving Magpie. Our Resident Conductor, Zane Dalal, returns to the concert podium. This concert – indeed this season – will be an uplifting one. This is a thoroughly romantic season with evocative and emotional beauty from start to finish.
