The Symphony Orchestra of India is back... this time with its Eighth Celebrity Concert Season, presenting a ‘romantic’ repertoire this February.
Our opening concert features two Concerti for Violin, Piano and Strings – by Chausson and Mendelssohn. These elegant ‘high romantic’ works will provide a first glimpse into a season full of romanticism. Marat Bisengaliev
will be the violin soloist joined by Jania Aubakirova on piano. Aubakirova is a highly respected piano pedagogue, who also spends time giving concerts all over the world. Fresh from triumphs at Carnegie Hall, in late 2009, she makes her debut in India with the SOI. As part of this first concert, Aubakirova will also play some solo piano works, which allow
us to frame the concert with the Bach/Busoni Chaconne and a handsome nod to the Chopin Bicentennial with his Ballade No 4. and Scherzo No. 2.
