One of the chief objectives of the NCPA is to maintain the continuity of the great masters of Indian classical and folk music, dance and drama and to record and preserve the finest performances in these arts which were handed down through oral tradition over generations.
This prime downtown setting on the shores of the Arabian Sea is close to two of the city's largest railway stations Churchgate and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST).
B.E.S.T bus routes 108 and 137 stop right outside the NCPA. Special buses are available from CST and Churchgate. Special bus 9 goes from Churchgate Station to NCPA during rush hours.
During peak hours, share-a-taxi schemes are available from CST and Churchgate to Nariman Point, next to the NCPA.
Limited parking facilities for audience members are available at the NCPA on a first come first served basis. Vehicles are parked at owner's risk and the NCPA cannot accept liability for loss or damage.
