Make a Donations

Throughout history, many of the great pillars on which civilization has been built have relied on the philanthropic gestures of enlightened men and women. The NCPA believes that its cultural mission is in tune with those individuals who wish to invest something of themselves in India’s tremendous heritage and its future artistic development.

The following list gives few ideas of how you can associate yourself directly with the NCPA’s achievements, but we also realize that giving is a personal matter, so please do come and see us in person to discuss your own requirements as a supporter of our work.

Name an NCPA venue/facility

Foundations and individuals may wish to incorporate their name, or the names of loved ones, into the fabric of the NCPA by providing a sum of money that will cover the running cost of one of our venues or resources, such as our library, archive, art gallery, gardens, foyers, rehearsal rooms or recording studio. This gift will secure the naming rights of the facility supported. Such naming is a fitting memorial, allowing a lifetime’s achievement or a passion for culture to resonate among generations to come.

Name an NCPA event or series

By funding in its entirety an NCPA event or series, such as a festival or an on-going programming strand, you will have naming rights that will inextricably link your philanthropic gesture with the event you are supporting.

Name a seat

Over almost half a century, the NCPA has developed into one of India’s most important platforms for cultural excellence. Become a part of its future by putting your own name, or that of a loved one, on a seat in one of our halls. A seat dedication is a unique way to participate personally in the NCPA’s development as one of South Asia’s most important cultural institutions, and to make a lasting contribution to our artistic future.

Education and community initiatives

Education, research and preservation of heritage are core objectives of the NCPA, as articulated in its Mission Statement.  Individuals and foundations are invited to contribute to areas of the NCPA’s work relating to the promotion of culture in schools and communities.

Here are some of the areas where corporate giving will help the NCPA to build on our cultural heritage for future generations:

  • Maintenance and purchase of essential resources for the NCPA’s Libraries and Archives
  • Artist in residence schemes, scholarships, training and teaching
  • Community outreach programmes
  • Instrumental teaching in schools
  • Guru Support Scheme
  • Tickets for charitable and underprivileged sectors

Purchase instruments

The NCPA is in the process of building a world-class collection of musical instruments for training as well as performances and recordings. By purchasing one or more new instruments, or by making a contribution towards this initiative, you will be helping to provide facilities that allow the talents of young Indian musicians to grow whilst also meeting the expectations of the NCPA’s audiences and visiting international performers.

Bequests

A bequest is a gift made in a will or living trust. Bequests offer a tax-effective and flexible option for supporting good causes. They provide a fitting memorial to donors and/or their loved ones for posterity. Bequests can be made in the form or money, goods, shares or property. Someone from our Finance Department here at the NCPA will be able to discuss all the various options with you in person, so that your legacy to us is deployed as effectively as possible.

Support the NCPA redevelopment scheme

The NCPA is about to undertake a major redevelopment of its site at Nariman point. We will be adding new facilities for our public, including cafes, fine dining, arts retail outlets, beautification of public spaces and more flexible venues for performing and for training and education. This is an ideal time to donate to an initiative that will transform India’s cultural life, and we would welcome the opportunity to enter into discussions with those who may be able to commit significant support to this important venture.

Your gift is precious to us - please come and talk to us in person

The above ways of donating to the NCPA are given as examples only. Please contact the NCPA to discuss giving options which can be customized to reflect your own philanthropic and financial objectives. We greatly value your support of the NCPA and look forward to working with you to ensure that your generous gift is used wisely to enable the arts to flourish.
