Jindal Arts Creative Interaction Centre

The Jindal Arts Creative Interaction Centre (JACIC) was established at the invitation of the NCPA in 1994 as the cultural wing of the JSW Foundation, whose remit is to promote social development under the auspices of the Jindal Group, one of India’s leading industrial conglomerates. Mrs Sangita Jindal is the Honorary Director of JACIC.

The JACIC’s activities stem from an understanding that culture is an integral part of Indian society and that the arts can bring about a social change .

The main objectives of the JACIC are:

  • To encourage creative interaction between the arts and artists
  • To organize film premieres that promote social change
  • To promote art through a series of workshops
  • To conduct awareness programmes in art for the public to enhance creativity
  • To beautify city spaces through ‘Art in Public Places’ scheme
  • To generate awareness of climate change and social issues by organizing debates, panel discussions, etc

Although an independent body, the JACIC uses the NCPA’s ongoing cultural presentations as a springboard for its own arts in society initiatives.

The NCPA’s newsletters / circulars have detailed information about the activities carried out by the centre.
