In this event we present recitals by two talented ghazal singers who will regale the audience with some evergreen ghazals penned by great poets.
Initiated in to music by her father, Sadhana Rahatgaonkar trained with several teachers: N. B. Lonare, Bhagwan Prasad Sharma and B. Mukherjee. Her style of rendering ghazal is marked with serene expressions and voice modulations. With several awards and accolades to her credit, she has performed widely at several prestigious festivals across India.
Born in a family of musicians and Urdu scholars, Tauseef Akhtar studied classical vocal music from the renowned masters: Govind Prasad Jaipurwale and Dilshad Khan. He was also privileged to be mentored by the legendary ghazal singer, Jagjit Singh. After working as a music director for several popular Hindi films, Tauseef Akhtar came back in to the fold of ghazal. With his mellifluous voice and effortless style of singing, he is known to connect instantly with the audience.
