Santoor, originally a folk instrument from Kashmir valley, is now a well-established instrument, not only in the field of art music but also in the world music arena.

Rahul Sharma, the son and disciple of the legendary santoor maestro Shiv Kumar Sharma, is an heir apparent to the rich musical legacy of his father. Rahul’s innovative collaborations with Grammy award winners Kenny G and Deep Forest have taken the santoor to a top position on jazz Billboard charts in the US. With numerous performances at various folk and world music festivals across the world, Rahul Sharma is a sought after concert artiste.

Besides santoor, the group comprises instruments like keyboards, drums, bass guitar, tabla, and saxophone. In the exploration of folk melodies across diverse regions of India, from Jammu-Kashmir and Assam to Punjab and Bengal, Folktronika attempts to blend creatively the acoustic and electronic sounds.
