There is so much emotion in her voice, whether she is singing jazz ballads about love and heartbreak, paying homage to Billie Holiday’s and Nat King Cole’s ‘This Will Make You Laugh’ or singing uptempo standards like ‘Well, You Needn’t’ and ‘Take Five’.  McRae also covered several artistes, including The Carpenters and Stevie Wonder, making their songs her own in a style that is completely original.
