BEER PUPPETS 

A jazz band with an exotic name, Beer Puppets was founded by Shreya Bhattacharya and Abhishek Dey who were students at the Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music in Chennai. The band initially included various international musicians at Swarnabhoomi – a pianist from Colombia, a drummer- vocalist from Mexico, other musicians from Brazil, Spain and the US, who have since left India. These musicians were gradually replaced by local musicians by Bhattacharya and Dey to retain the essential sound of the band. 

In February 2017, they were chosen to play in Sri Lanka for the Colombo Jazz Festival where they were well received.

They will be performing an amalgam of contemporary jazz, R&B, some fusion and their originals. The band will be Shreya Bhattacharya and Mana Dhanraj on vocals, co- leader Abhishek Dey on bass, Karan Joseph an piano and keyboards and Aron Niyro on drums.

Expect a lively, energetic set from this band.
