Cellists Julius Berger and Hyun-Jung Berger form the Berger Duo. Julius Berger has been a prominent fixture on the music scene for over three decades, and his second recording of Bach’s cello suites led to him being dubbed a “prophet of the cello” by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Hyun-Jung Berger is in demand as a soloist and chamber musician around the world and has recorded several CDs, notably of the Boccherini sonatas, along with Julius Berger, that are considered the definitive recordings of the repertoire by international magazines. These will be part of their programme at the NCPA featuring works for two cellos.
