The Carnival group Son Latino composed of 8 dancers and the musical group Zambo composed of 6 musicians playing percussion and wind instruments will bring to the Indian audience a bouquet of the traditional dances and music of the Barranquilla’s Carnival.

Barranquilla’s Carnival is Colombia’s most important folkloric celebration and the second largest carnival in the world, after Rio de Janeiro’s. This Carnival was declared by UNESCO one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

The Carnival group Son Latino has participated in the Carnival every year since 2009 and have won two consecutive years, 2014 and 2015, the Congo de Oro, award given to the best Carnival groups. Son Latino has represented Colombia and its carnival in events in Japan, Spain, France, China, Mexico, United Sates, Panama, Ecuador and Venezuela.

The group will perform dances such as cumbia, garabato, congo, puya, mapale, fandango and salsa.
