Prominent among the various initiatives undertaken by Citi and the NCPA are two schemes: Support to Gurus and Scholarships to Young Musicians. These programmes are in the field of Hindustani vocal (dhrupad and khayal) and instrumental music (melody and percussion instruments). This series is launched to showcase the beneficiaries of the above schemes. In this event, there will be a tabla recital by Vishal Mhatre followed by a khayal recital by Devashree Nawghare. Mhatre trains with tabla expert Shrutindra Katgade. He is tabla Visharad and the recipient of ‘Ustad Amir Hussain Khan Saheb Award’ given by ‘Bandish Trust’. He has received the CITI-NCPA Scholarship 2017-18. Nawghare is taking musical training from Manjiri Asanare-Kelkar. She has received the scholarship from Ministry of Culture, Government of India. She is the recipient of the CITI-NCPA Scholarship 2015-16.

Admission on a first-come-first-served basis. NCPA members will get preferential seating till 6.20 pm
