Violin Finals and Piano Semifinals: Eastern and Western Europe

Day 3 will begin with Schubert’s String Quartet, composed at the age of 18, followed by Mozart’s Motet for Soprano and Strings, written at 16. The day will continue with the Violin Finals and Piano Semifinals. Next, a Brahms duet for soprano and baritone—a work where he emulated the style of his predecessor Mendelssohn. Day 3 will conclude with Poulenc’s Rhapsodie, a satirical work featuring the clarinet, flute, mezzo soprano, piano and string quartet.
