An NCPA Presentation in collaboration with Furtados
The day will open with the final round for the piano competition. This will be followed by Vivaldi’s Concerto in G minor for two violins, string orchestra and continuo—part of a set of early concerti that established his fame across Europe. Bella figlia dell’amore, a vocal quartet from Verdi’s opera Rigoletto will then be presented, accompanied by a string and wind ensemble. A comical duet from Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore will follow next. After the intermission, a string quartet will perform a scherzo by Luigi Cherubini—a relatively forgotten composer once regarded as the greatest of his time by Beethoven. The evening will close with a Gran Quintetto for Strings by Giovanni Bottesini, very aptly titled Allegro Con Brio.
Box Office now open.
