An evening of Marathi love songs  

The emotion of love is indeed all pervading, and no wonder that it has greatly influenced all kinds of artistic expressions. Myriad shades of love; from the ecstasy of union with the beloved to the agony of separation, have found expression through arts, especially in the domain of poetry, literature, painting and music.  
The world of Marathi literature is no exception.  

Based on the theme of love, this concert will offer a glimpse of ‘Golden Era of Marathi Music’, featuring songs composed between 1950’s to 70’s. 
The song selection will include poetic works of legendary Marathi lyricists such as G. D. Madgulkar, Mangesh Padgaonkar, P. Savalaram, Jagdish Khebudkar, Honaji Bala and others, set to music by equally eminent music directors including Sudhir Phadke, Shriniwas Khale, Vasant Desai and Hridaynath Mangeshkar. The songs are presented in the idiom of bhavgeet and lokgeet, some of which have also been featured in Marathi films.
