An NCPA Library Presentation in collaboration with Million Dollar Confidence

To delve into the core aspects of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and elucidate how competencies such as intuition, passion, boldness and groundedness contribute to on-the-job effectiveness. The workshop aims to provide practical insights and tools to harness these attributes to enhance workplace performance and interpersonal dynamics.

Key themes:

What does it mean to be intuitive, passionate, bold but grounded, to display emotional intelligence? What are the human capabilities that matter most for on-the-job effectiveness?

Workshop components:

  1. Interactive Sessions:
    • Self-assessment exercises: Participants will assess their own levels of intuition, passion, boldness and groundedness through structured self-reflection activities.
    • Group discussions: Facilitated discussions will allow participants to share experiences and strategies related to these competencies, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  2. Skill development:
    • Case studies: Real-world examples will be used to illustrate how emotional intelligence impacts workplace effectiveness. Participants will analyse scenarios to identify the role of EQ in successful outcomes.
    • Role-playing: Simulated situations will give participants the opportunity to practice and enhance their emotional intelligence skills in a controlled setting.
  3. Tools and techniques:
    • Mindfulness practices: Techniques to develop groundedness and emotional regulation will be introduced, helping participants maintain composure and clarity.
    • Decision-making frameworks: Tools for improving intuitive decision-making will be shared, enabling participants to better trust and refine their instincts.
    • Passion projects: Encouragement to identify and pursue passion projects within the workplace, fostering a culture of engagement and innovation.


Human capabilities for on-the-job effectiveness:

  1. Self-awareness: Understanding one’s own emotions, strengths, and weaknesses and how they impact others.
  2. Self-regulation: The ability to control or redirect disruptive emotions and impulses, maintaining integrity and resilience.
  3. Motivation: A strong drive to achieve optimism, and commitment to organisational goals.
  4. Empathy: The ability to understand and share the feelings of others, leading to better communication and relationships.
  5. Social skills: Proficiency in managing relationships, inspiring others and fostering teamwork and collaboration.

This workshop aims to equip participants with the understanding and skills necessary to leverage their emotional intelligence for personal and professional growth. By focusing on intuition, passion, boldness and groundedness, participants will be better prepared to contribute meaningfully to their teams and the organisation as a whole.

Susheel Gajwani is an eminent filmmaker and television producer. He has recently completed his 14th feature film, Aakhreen Train – The Last Train. This Sindhi feature film is based on a unique story by the legendary Sindhi writer Thakur Chawla. Gajwani’s career spans various aspects of media and entertainment. He served as a producer at Doordarshan and was also the Founder Vice President of Money Satellite Television Channel, India’s first business television channel. He has made significant contributions to radio and has also created ROOTS – The Time Travellers, a fascinating show that explores Sindhi poetry.
