NCPA Mumbai Dance Season 2026

An NCPA Presentation

The Mumbai Dance Season will conclude with Indian classical dance presentations by noted exponents and their troupes. The finale will be curated by Kashmira Trivedi and Dr. Suman Badami.

Kashmira Trivedi is a performer, choreographer and teacher of Bharatanatyam, with over 34 years of experience. Trained under Deepak Mazumdar, she has mastered the form, earning her Parangata (Advance) Diploma from Nalanda Dance Research Centre and having studied at Kala Paricchaya and Bharata College of Fine Arts & Culture. Founder of Takshashila Nrityakala Mandir and a Doordarshan-graded artiste, Trivedi has been honoured with numerous awards, including the Kanak Shakti Puraskar in 2024. She promotes artistes through initiatives such as Tarang Utsav and serves as a curator for the Sanskruti Arts Festival and chief coordinator for Maharashtra and Gujarat for The Dance India magazine.

Dr. Suman Badami is a Bharatanatyam dancer from Mumbai, with a PhD in the aesthetics of classical dance from the University of Mumbai and a Fellowship for Research in Bharatanatyam from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. She is the Director of the Natya Vimarsha Centre for Dance in Mumbai. Dr. Badami is a recipient of numerous awards. She has presented papers on Bharatanatyam at several seminars and conferences. Trained in Chennai under the illustrious S. K. Kameswaran and Saroja Kameswaran, she has performed extensively. Dr. Badami is also an executive committee member of Powai Fine Arts, a non-profit that promotes classical art forms.
