Gopal Krishan Shah was born in a family rooted in music. He learnt music under his father Hari Krishan Shah, a disciple of D.R. Parvatikar, a legendary musician, musicologist, and inventor of Datatreye Veena. Presently, he is learning sitar from veteran guru of Etawah gharana, Arvind Parikh. He has performed at prestigious music conferences like Sangeet Natak Akademi (Delhi), Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan-2003, Madhurima Sangeet Samiti (Haridwar), among others. He has also performed at fusion concerts in Iran and the Middle East, Japan, Rome, Belgium and France. Tulika Ghosh, daughter of the internationally acclaimed maestro of tabla, Nikhil Ghosh, represents the fourth generation of a family of distinguished musicians. Ghosh has learnt from her father who was much acclaimed for his knowledge of vocal music. She has also received exclusive training in tappa, from Hanuman Prasad Mishra. Her other gurus were, Khadim Hussain Khan and Jnan Prakash Ghosh, as well as Yunus Hussain Khan. Ghosh has performed all over India, and in Germany, Japan, the USA and the UK, and at the prestigious Music Guimet at Paris (2008). She is a regular performer on the All India Radio and Television.
