By Manjiri Asanare-Kelkar
Accompanied by Yashwant Vaishnav (tabla) & Anant Joshi (harmonium)

An NCPA Presentation in association with Saroj Jhaveri Foundation

The concert features ragas assigned to the time of sunset and late evening, presented in typical Jaipur-Atrauli style, which is known for its vast repertory of compound (jod) ragas and intricate note patterns.

Manjiri Asanare-Kelkar has trained with Madhusudan Kanetkar, a direct protégé of Bhurji Khan, son of the renowned maestro of Jaipur-Atrauli gharana, Alladiya Khan. After her guru’s demise, she continued her training with legendary vocalist Kishori Amonkar, adding new dimensions to her craft. Her style is marked by a systematic and balanced blend of melody, rhythm and lyrics.
