NCPA Library in collaboration with Metamorphosis Theatre and Films

This workshop takes you to the world of visual stories onstage and reflects on the power of visual language that communicates the unspoken and unsaid beyond the text. The basic theoretical background and the practical use of working tools relevant to the field of scenography along with the multidisciplinary nature of the field will be discussed. Participants will be introduced to some iconic plays, dramatists and scenographers that communicated through colour, design, symbolism, performance, metaphor, etc. The workshop will provide glimpses into the work of prolific scenographers from Germany, Russia, Poland and India.

Dr. Omkar Bhatkar is a sociologist, playwright, independent filmmaker and stage critic. He writes and directs plays and makes independent feature films and documentaries.
