Having first impressed audiences in the NCPA Jazz Festival, Isheeta Chakravarty was part of a band led by the iconic guitarist Carlton Kitto. Her versatility in the rendition of jazz enthralled audiences. She returns to the NCPA on March 15; This time as leader of her own band to render an evening of jazz from the music of composers such as Gershwin, Cole Porter, Antonio Carlos Jobim amongst others. Her jazz vocal idols are Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald Kurt Elling and Carmen MacRae. An Indian classically trained singer with a voice modulation honed for jazz singing she will be performing classic jazz renditions of standards.

Isheeta will be accompanied by a stellar all-star international band comprising of Christos Yerolatsitis (Cyprus) on piano, Aron Nyiro (Hungary) on drums, Gianluca Liberatore (Italy) on acoustic bass and Shirish Malhotra (India) on tenor saxophone.
