Initially trained by K. D. Gavkar, Jayashree Patanekar went on to study vocal music with the legendary vocalist and violinist, Gajananrao Joshi. She also received guidance from stalwarts such as Nivruttibua Sarnaik and Ratnakar Pai of the Jaipur gharana. Her music reflects a confluence of three traditions: Gwalior, Jaipur and Kirana. Her style, marked with pure classicism and intellectual approach, evokes the intense atmosphere of the raga. In this recital, Patnekar will showcase her eclectic approach to aesthetic build-up in khayal vocalism.
