Yoyo Gaga: Lullaby of Tani
This traditional chant depicts the birth of Tani, the first human (Doni Aji) born to Pedong, the rain mother goddess. It highlights the mother’s spiritual journey into the eternal worlds of music, wisdom and knowledge, and invokes through lullabies the three spiritual personalities who guide the child’s journey.
Solung Festival
The festival symbolises harmony, unity and collective social life with its portrayal of the Engo Takar community welcoming deities for peace and prosperity. It also depicts Kine Nane, the Mother Goddess who blesses the people, and the Binyat ritual connected with harvest.
Pasi Kongkio Telo: Worship of Nature
The presentation, based on joyful singing and dancing, depicts humans worshipping forest deities and nature in general. Reverence for the forest gods is clearly palpable through observance of silence in the forest, offering prayers before crossing the river and respecting the basic laws of nature.
Nero Aming Maya
This tribal village dance showcases different stages of agriculture—from clearing the forest for land, sowing seeds and harvesting, to storing the produce in granaries.
Memu Nayo Ye Bepo Lamro Ko
In this joyful sequence of singing, dancing and merrymaking, both men and women are seen playfully teasing each other in an atmosphere of mirth and community-bonding.
