Maargam – An evening of Bharatanatyam

Rukmini Vijayakumar

Artistic director of Raadha Kalpa dance company and the director of LshVa, art space in Bangalore, Rukmini Vijayakumar is one of most upcoming Bharatanatyam artiste.

The evening will follow the traditional format of a Bharatanatyam presentation. Starting with an invocatory piece in praise of lord Ardanareeshwara, the evening will then lead into a Varnam. The second half of the evening’s presentation will have expressive pieces and end with a Tillana. Rukmini’s approach to choreography is non-linear and attempts to find an emotional connection through each piece. She has been appreciated for her athleticism, and the ability to take audiences on an emotional journey.
