Artistic Director: Jana Schmück and Anne Dietrich

TanzART meets Indian Dance

TanzART will present the North Indian Classical Dance style Kathak, as well Bollywood in its best. Next to contemporary dance, TanzART tries to spread the Beauty of Indian Dance in Germany. The duration of above performance will be around 25 minutes.

Manucharitam_to be

The contemporary dance theatre production of TanzART portraying the human beiing in our rapidly growing global world with all its multifarious social issues and problems. It questions the role of human beings which seems to be diminished in our very mobile, flexible and virtual information society. At the same time, it reveals the possibilities of encounters between people and the hindrances thereof, which can change a whole life within a second.

We are bedeviled with existential questions like: “Who am I and how many may I be?” “What is the central theme of my life.” “Where do we tie on and where are we mixed up?”

The abstract dance piece provides an insight in the variety and possibilities of being by taking the audience on a journey. “Manucharitam_to be” will show western contemporary dance at its best – turns, lifts, fluid dance movements, using the floor, power and dynamics, but also small meaningful gestures and moments. The piece doesn`t want to give answers, but moments for thoughts and questioning…

The duration of above performance will be around 45 minutes.
