“Marathi Vangmayacha Ghaliv Itihas” is a delightful literary creation by P. L. Deshpande. This book, an expanded version of a lengthy article published in Mauj is renowned for its profound, literary and thought-provoking humour. Although Pu La couldn’t write further instalments due to health issues, this single work showcases the brilliance of his intellect and wit.

On the occasion of his birth anniversary, this one-hour performance introduces today’s generation to Pu La’s unique brand of ‘serious’ humour. Along with the spirit of the original work, the play also brings in some of his other beloved characters, weaving together contemporary realities with the excluded history of Marathi literature
