Mary Poppins (1964) is a beloved musical fantasy from Walt Disney Productions that has enchanted audiences for generations. Set in Edwardian London, the story follows the Banks family, whose lives are transformed by the arrival of a magical and spirited nanny, played by Julie Andrews. With warmth, wisdom and a touch of whimsy, Mary Poppins brings joy and discipline in equal measure, teaching the children and their preoccupied father important lessons about imagination, kindness and the true meaning of family.

Alongside Andrews is Dick Van Dyke as the cheerful chimney sweep Bert, whose optimism and friendship add charm and humour to the tale. The film is celebrated for its groundbreaking blend of live action and animation, memorable songs such as ‘A Spoonful of Sugar’ and ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ and its uplifting storytelling.

Mary Poppins received widespread critical acclaim and won five Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Andrews. More than six decades later, it continues to inspire audiences with its message that a little magic and a positive attitude can make everyday life extraordinary.
