Trained under prominent gurus including Arjunsa Nakod and Shripati Padigar, Jayateerth Mevundi is a prominent representative of the Kirana gharana, which primarily relies on the aesthetic build-up of the form through permutation and combination of notes, extensive ornamentation, sargam and attractive tan patterns. He is also known for presenting devotional songs in Kannada.

In this recital, Mevundi will present select compositions of three eminent singer-composers: Na’mat Khan alias Sadarang, Ramashreya Jha alias Ramrang and Abdul Karim Khan.

Trained under stalwarts like Gangadhar Pimpalkhare, Mogubai Kurdikar and Gajananrao Joshi, Padma Talwalkar is regarded as an outstanding female vocalist and a senior guru today. Her music is an eclectic mix of Jaipur and Gwalior traditions.

In this recital, Talwalkar will present works by two eminent composers: Sadarang and Jagannathbua Purohit alias Gunidas.
