An NCPA Presentation
Mudra, the NCPA’s annual thematic dance festival presented around International Dance Day, stands out for its focus on culturally rich and thought-provoking themes. This year, the festival continues its exploration of aharya, highlighting the vital role of this element in preserving and enriching the art of Indian classical dance. Aharya, which encompasses the exquisite jewellery, textiles and make-up integral to classical dance styles, not only enhances the visual appeal of performances but also serves as a storytelling medium deeply rooted in India’s cultural heritage. Through a vibrant array of performances, workshops and exhibitions, this year’s festival explores the rich narratives of Indian mythology and folklore, celebrating the timeless significance of aharya.
