Chandragupta Maurya – The Rise of a true warrior
Odissi by Soumya Bose and Ankita Sengupta Disciples of Guru Sujata Mohapatra

The dance drama portrays the dark period of Magadh under the tyrannical rule of King Dhanananda, where the people suffer under injustice and cruelty.
Moved by the misery of the kingdom and insulted by the corrupt ruler, the wise scholar Chanakya seeks a leader who can restore dharma. In Chandragupta, he recognizes purity of heart, courage, and the spirit of a true king. Under Chanakya’s guidance, the young boy rises from obscurity to challenge tyranny and another cause is to take revenge for his mother’s oppression and torture at the hands of Dhanananda.
The production beautifully depicts the transformation, celebrating the victory of righteousness over injustice and the power of vision, wisdom, and destiny.

Acharati
Bharatanatyam by Gautam Marathe, Eesha Pinglay & Poorva Saraswat -Disciples of Guru Vaibhav Arekar

Acharati means to live through practice: to embody, to perform, to follow.
This presentation reflects on what we have and what changes as we journey through selected traditional pieces of the Bharatanatyam margam.

In Acharati, nrtta and abhinaya segments have been rearranged so the choreography expands into a trio rather than remaining a solo.
