The Fabulous Female Vocalists of Jazz

An NCPA Presentation

Continuing with the Jazz Masters Series listening sessions, we focus on vocal jazz this month.

In the long history of jazz is the dominant female voice from its earliest days to the present time. We will listen to and look at the impactful ladies who have lit up the jazz scene. From Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday through to Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Carmen MacRae, Betty Carter down to Diana Krall and Cecil McLorin Salvant, songs and stories behind the music will be presented by Sunil Sampat.

Admission on a first-come-first-served basis. NCPA Members will get preferential seating till 5.20 pm.
