An unique opportunity to experience art in its many forms through the colorful folk forms of India. The workshop over 5 days would explore India through its different folk and tribal traditions. Participants would be taught a folk dance from Bengal, a state in Eastern India, and they would be introduced to Warli Painting ( Maharashtra, Western India), Madhubani painting ( Bihar) and Gond painting ( Madhya Pradesh). They would explore patterns on paper and see how they take shape in dance choreographies.
