Bharatanatyam by Pavitra Bhat & Kathak by Bhakti Deshpande

Two of the most versatile and celebrated dancers of the newer generation, Pavitra Bhat along with Bhakti Deshpande will present Samaavesh. The ever-evolving nature of time and human behaviour drives cultures and histories; and India without a doubt has always been inclusive of such changes only to grow richer and grander with ever-evolving ideas of human expressions. The dance styles of Kathak and Bharatanatyam are two of the most prominent exhibits of this inclusive nature. Both these styles originate out of the shastras written about 2,000 years ago; both have had humble beginnings in serving the gods and temples; both faced ridicule from social biases; both fought the repercussions of invasions (be it Mughal, British or any other); and both styles today hold strong and preferred positions in trends of entertainment across global audiences.

Admission on a first-come-first-served basis. NCPA members will get preferential seating till 6.50 pm.
