FIRE: Kathak by Ashimbandhu’s Upasana Centre and Karagattam by Shri Gauridutta Mittal Vidyalaya – 07:30 pm 

FIRE by Ashimbandhu Bhattacharjee & Upasana Centre for Dance

Ashimbandhu Bhattacharjee, an internationally acclaimed Kathak artist presents ‘Fire’ showcasing the interconnectedness of human life and the enduring legacy of shared knowledge and creation.​ It highlights the myth of Prometheus, who stole fire from the gods to benefit humanity, symbolising the transformative power and eternal nature of fire. ​ The narrative emphasizes that fire, once acquired, is never lost and perpetually fuels human progress and scientific advancement.​

Karagattam by the students of Shri Gauridutta Mittal Vidyalaya & Junior College, Sion

‘Karagattam’ is an ancient folk-dance form of Tamil Nadu, performed in praise of the rain goddess Mariamman. Traditionally, performers balance decorated pots on their heads while dancing to rhythmic music. This dance will be presented by the students of Shri Gauridutt Mittal Junior College, managed by The Balak Education Society established in 1936.
