Ode to Shiva – A meditative solo invocation to Adi Yogi—Lord Shiva—the cosmic dancer whose every movement resonates through the universe, whose voice embodies the primal sound (Naada), and whose form is adorned with the moon and stars. Revered as the source of yoga and embodiment of sattva, this piece pays homage to his omnipresence and grace, before whom even the gods of the cosmos bow. In this performance, the dancer offers complete surrender, seeking freedom and spiritual liberation through Shiva’s benevolence.

Ahe Neela Shaila – Presented by Adyasha Foundation, Ahe Neela Shaila draws inspiration from the devotional verses of Salabega, capturing the soul’s deep yearning for inner freedom and transcendence. Through a rich tapestry of music and dance, the performance evokes emotional depth and spiritual introspection. Blending multilingual poetry, diverse musical genres, and intricate rhythms, the production celebrates cultural inclusivity while narrating a universal story of devotion, human longing, and the quest for liberation.

Rehana Patel-Rane, a disciple of Kathak luminaries Guruvarya Smt. Rajeshri Shirke and Smt. Rama Devi, boasts a Visharad in Kathak and expertise in the intricacies of both the Lucknow and Jaipur gharanas. She is the co-founder of Kalarajya Performing Arts, establishing branches in Kurla, Bandra, Belapur, and Seawoods. This academy is dedicated to nurturing talents in performing and fine arts, offering comprehensive training in Kathak, Folk dances, Tabla, Harmonium, Drawing, and Craft. In addition to her accomplishments in the realm of arts, she holds a degree in Textile Engineering from SNDT College and has cultivated proficiency in Tabla. Beyond her artistic pursuits, she has actively contributed to social causes, volunteering her expertise at institutions such as the Kamla Mehta School for the Blind, where she imparted the nuances of Kathak to visually impaired children. In a career spanning five decades, Rehana Patel-Rane has ardently devoted herself to preserving the rich traditions of this dance form by composing classical Kathak-based Bandishes and songs under the project “Aayam Kathak Ke”. She is the recipient of the “Vocational Excellence” award by the Rotary Club of Navi Mumbai and “Hirkani” award by SCNS Navi Mumbai and is currently pursuing her Alankar.

Aayaam Kathak Ke – Nrutya Bandish – presented by Kalarajya Performing Arts is a vibrant showcase of songs integral to the Kathak repertoire—featuring Surya Vandana, Chaturang, Kajari, Naika, Thumri, Trivat, Abhanga, and Sant Kabir’s Dohe among others. This production aims to simplify and celebrate the diverse dimensions (Aayaam) of Kathak through expressive classical dance, offering both education and enjoyment for all art lovers.
