The Indian Choral Ensemble (TICE)

Based in Chennai, The Indian Choral Ensemble seeks to bring together talented singers from across India to deliver captivating performances that seamlessly blend Western choral harmonies with Indian music aesthetics. The choral arrangements thus offer a mesmerising fusion of tradition and innovation. Performing original compositions in multiple Indian languages, as well as in English, under the choirdirector duo Kalyani Nair and Karthik Manickavasakam, the ensemble of 37 singers and six musicians masterfully showcases the majestic power of a large group-sound distinguished by its intricate six- to eight-part arrangements. Each voice contributes to multi-layered harmonies, leading to a complex yet rich sound offering a deeply textured and resonant musical experience.
