Dramatised Reading of Kumarswar – Ek Gandharva Katha

An NCPA Library Presentation
Kumarswar – Ek Gandharva Katha is a sensitive and inspiring narrative that brings to life the musical journey of the legendary Hindustani vocalist Kumar Gandharva.

Written by Madhuri Purandare, the book traces his life from childhood brilliance to six decades of fearless musical exploration. More than a biography, it captures the essence of his creativity, experimentation and spiritual depth, beautifully complemented by Chandramohan Kulkarni’s evocative illustrations.

In this presentation, Prajakt Deshmukh, a versatile Marathi theatre and film actor and director known for his nuanced performances, and Geetanjali Kulkarni, an acclaimed actress celebrated for her powerful and authentic work across theatre, film and OTT platforms, bring the text to life through a dramatised reading.
