To mark the birth centenary of the iconic composer Omkar Prasad (O. P.) Nayyar this month, the NCPA Music Library celebrates the extraordinary legacy of this maverick tunesmith. Known for his unmistakable rhythmic flair, vibrant orchestration and a style that truly marched to the beat of a different drummer, Nayyar remains one of Hindi cinema’s most distinctive and influential music directors.

Led by Archisman Mozumder and Kushal Gopalka, known for their deep insight into classic Hindi film music, this guided listening session will explore Nayyar’s signature sound, his memorable collaborations and the cultural impact of his timeless compositions. Through curated tracks and expert commentary, the audience will gain a deeper understanding of the craft, innovation and charm that defined his work.
