Under NCPA’s Page to Stage literary initiative, the Gujarati edition of Travels with Nandighosh: Demystifying Krishna by Satish Mutatkar will be launched.
The book, presented as a fictional journey in a camper named Nandighosh, captures dialogues that unravel the many dimensions of Krishna’s life his wisdom, strategy, playfulness, and philosophy making him accessible beyond myth and ritual.
The event will feature an engaging line-up: author Satish Mutatkar introducing the book; dramatic readings by versatile National Award-winning actor Manoj Joshi and veteran Gujarati theatre personality Utkarsh Mazumdar; reflections from translator Vibhavan Mehta, an accomplished sitarist and AIR artist; and perspectives from Avinashbhai Parikh, former member of Gujarat Sahitya Academy. Prof. (Dr.) Sucheta Paranjape, a noted Mahabharat authority, will deliver the keynote, linking the book to the epic’s timeless wisdom.
The evening will also honour contributors, with possible cultural interludes by the participating artistes. In about 75 minutes, the programme blends literature, performance, and philosophy making Krishna’s legacy resonate afresh for Gujarati audiences.
