from Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s Strange Pilgrims
An NCPA Library Presentation in collaboration with Metamorphosis Theatre and Films
Strange Pilgrims, a collection of enchanting short stories by Nobel laureate Gabriel Garcia Márquez, will be brought to life in this immersive book performance series. The featured story, ‘The Saint’, tells the captivating tale of Margarito Duarte, a Colombian man who embarks on a spiritual pilgrimage to Rome, seeking sainthood for his daughter after discovering her body miraculously intact years after her passing.
This presentation is conceptualised by Dr. Omkar Bhatkar, who intertwines multimedia, expressive movements and poetry to convey the profound emotional depth and magical realism that defines Marquez’s work.
‘The Saint’ offers a distinct exploration of book reading as a performative art, illustrating the transformative power of literature when brought to life onstage.
Box Office now open.
