The Tata Legacy: A Journey of Nation-Building
Talk with Girish Kuber and Ambarish Mishra

An NCPA Library Presentation

Under NCPA’s Page to Stage literary initiative, this special Marathi–English conversation revisits the extraordinary journey of the Tata family, whose vision, resilience, and values helped shape modern India.

Girish Kuber, the erudite and award-winning editor of Loksatta, will be in dialogue with Ambarish Mishra, the seasoned and insightful journalist admired for his sharp social and political commentary.

Girish Kuber’s acclaimed Marathi book, टाटायन एक पोलादी उद्योगगाथा, was later translated into English as The Tatas: How a Family Built a Business and a Nation by noted translator Vikrant Pande. The English edition went on to win the Gaja Capital Business Book Prize 2019.

The work traces nearly two centuries from Nusserwanji’s humble beginnings to Jamsetji’s pioneering ventures, J.R.D. Tata’s aviation leadership, and Ratan Tata’s visionary global expansion.

हा संवाद मराठी आणि इंग्रजी अशा दोन्ही भाषांमध्ये रंगणार आहे. The evening also offers a moment of reverence as we commemorate Ratan Tata’s first death anniversary, paying tribute to his leadership, integrity, and humanitarian spirit.

Entry Free. RSVP on 9004238882 or rdastoor@ncpamumbai.com.
