Vachu Anande: Echoes of India’s Soul – A Celebration of Cultural Narratives through Literature

This Marathi book reading event will celebrate India’s rich cultural heritage through four insightful works exploring literature, cinema and language. The first book, Shubhra Kaahi Jeevghene, portrays the rebellious genius of Sajjad Hussain, the soulful depth of Begum Akhtar, the fearless voice of Saadat Hasan Manto and the melodious power of thumri queen Shobha Gurtu. . Sundar Tee Dusri Duniya evokes the charm of Hindi cinema’s golden era, revisiting iconic studios like Bombay Talkies and Ranjit Film Company. Daravalale Ithe Suvas paints tender portraits of legends of film music like Shailendra, Shamshad Begum and Madan Mohan. Chaukaat Udhalale Moti traces the evolution of Urdu through literary stalwarts Mir Taqi Mir, Mirza Ghalib and Akbar Ilahabadi.
Culture chronicler Ambarish Mishra, voice-over artiste Prasad Phanse, film and theatre artistes Mansi Joshi and Dr. Shweta Pendse will take the audience through this cultural tribute.
