A Bouquet of Humour, Literature & Human Expressions

An NCPA Library Presentation

Shirish Kanekar, writer, journalist and one of India’s earliest stand-up comedians, redefined humour as a way of life. With razor-sharp wit and incisive reflections on cinema, sports and music, he captured what is closest to every Indian’s heart. He has authored nearly 50 books, including Cricket Vedh, Majhi Fillumbaji, Gaye Chala Ja, Gotavala and Surparambya. His popular columns in Loksatta, Maharashtra Times, Lokmat, Pudhari and unforgettable shows like Majhi Fillumbaji, Phatkebaji, Kanekari won him admirers across India and from America and Canada to Dubai, Muscat and Singapore.

This Marathi performance celebrates the inimitable Kanekari style through selections from his writings and stage works. Conceptualised and curated by Prasad Phanse, the evening features eminent artistes Dr. Girish Oak, Sanjay Mone, Ajit Bhure, Uday Sabnis, who will be joined by Phanse.
