Documentary Film Screenings

An NCPA Presentation in collaboration with Cinema Collective

The Reality Check film series promotes and encourages documentary filmmakers in India, whose work reflects life and culture in the country today in a thoughtful blend of creativity and integrity.

Wild Divide
Malayalam with English Subtitles (60 mins)

Wild Divide is a deeply intimate and urgent exploration of one of India’s most complex and emotionally charged ecological crises—the human-wildlife conflict in Wayanad, Kerala. Set in a fragile zone where forests meet growing human settlements, the film journeys through the lives of those caught in the crosshairs—indigenous communities, farmers, forest officials, activists and the animals themselves.

Told through interwoven narratives, the film captures a landscape where fear, survival and coexistence collide. From the haunting silences of a village mourning a lost loved one to the quiet resilience of a forest officer walking a lonely path of duty, Wild Divide doesn’t take sides. Instead, it seeks to understand and offer a rare window into the emotional and political complexity of coexistence in a rapidly changing India by highlighting, both systemic failures and ground-level innovations.
