The Saroj Khan Story
Hindi with English Subtitles (57 mins)
From rather humble beginnings in the early 1950s, Saroj Khan emerged as a child artiste with exceptional dancing talent.
And then, there she was, in each decade of the Hindi film industry that followed, from being a background dancer behind the likes of Madhubala to the choreographer who made Madhuri Dixit the phenomenal dancer she is and eventually, as the legendary choreographer to next generation stars like Aishwarya Rai and Kareena Kapoor.
The Saroj Khan Story began as a search for the genius behind some of the most memorable dance sequences of the Hindi film industry. What emerged is a deeply personal story of determination, passion, extraordinary skill and the sheer will to survive that is both intimate and inspiring.

Ladies Special

Ladies Special is an account of journeys of women commuters travelling from Virar to Churchgate (60 km apart) and back, during office hours, in Mumbai, in a women’s only train called Ladies Special.
It gently uncovers the humour and solidarity of female commuters as they create a space for themselves somewhere between work and home in the highly stressful life of Mumbai City.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A session.
Entry free on a first come, first served basis. NCPA Members will get preferential seating till 6.20 pm.
