British pianist Benjamin Grosvenor is internationally recognized for his sonorous lyricism and understated brilliance at the keyboard. His virtuosic interpretations are underpinned by a unique balance of technical mastery and intense musicality. Benjamin has been heralded one of the most important pianists to emerge from the UK in several decades. Benjamin Grosvenor’s recital programme will open with Liszt’s Petrarch Sonnet 104 moving along to Piano Sonata in B minor which Liszt dedicated to Schumann in 1854. The programme will also feature Albéniz’s Iberia, Book 1 which is the composer’s best-known work. The recital concludes with two pieces by Ravel, Jeux d’eau, a dedication to his then teacher Gabriel Fauré, and La valse, a choreographed poem originally conceived as a ballet but now heard as a concert work.
