An NCPA Presentation
Supported by HSBC India

This residency invites musicians who exclusively work to compose music for dance, vocalists who have accompanied great dancers and dancers who have created their own music to explore the intricate architecture of music specifically crafted for the Indian classical stage. Unlike a standard concert, music for classical Indian dance is a living, breathing dialogue, where the melody and rhythm must mirror every expression and footwork of the dancer. The residency  also includes a panel discussion featuring eminent dancers and veteran musicians on balancing tradition with contemporary compositional needs.
