Many wonderful short films are being made in India. Filmmakers are at work in their regions, devising bold, new ways to experiment with form and technique. Short Film Corner hopes to be a showcase for these films and open a dialogue between the filmmakers and their audiences.
Kasak

Gaman
Hindi Film with English Subtitles (11 mins)
Ahmed (33) lives with his father Maksood (68) in Betul, a small district in Madhya Pradesh. His future lies in Delhi, however, with the prospect of a new job. When Ahmed returns home with a box of sweets, he discovers his father is forced to vacate their shop because the landlord has hiked the rent by two thousand rupees. His father is outstretched on the cot. Ahmed demands to know why his father backed down so easily.

Bobby Beauty Parlour
Hindi and Punjabi Film with English Subtitles (18 mins)
On the hottest day of the year, Eelu drops by to see her best friend Manu, who works at the local beauty salon. When the owner of the salon suffers a heatstroke, the girls find themselves alone and unable to get out due to the severe heat. They soon get comfortable and start chatting, laughing and dancing, but their carefree revelry is punctured by the sudden arrival of a man asking for Eelu.
