Short Film Screenings

An NCPA Presentation in collaboration with White Wall Screenings

Short Film Corner showcases some of the many short films being made in India. We bring works from diverse regions by filmmakers devising bold, new ways to experiment with form and technique. The screenings will be followed by an open dialogue between the filmmakers and the audience.

Anaar Daana
Hindi, Marwadi with English subtitles (20 mins)

Guddal, a free-spirited five-year-old, lives in her ancestral home with her younger brother Laddoo, and older sister Chinu. A nanny cares for them in the absence of their parents. Guddal orchestrates mischief with Laddoo, landing them in trouble and punishment. One day, an incident in the house brings about a change in the atmosphere. The influx of strangers and unwanted guests in her idyllic world leaves Guddal confused. A coming-of-age narrative, Anaar Daana explores the essence of childhood amidst the darkest moments of life.
